There have been some messages with questions about what is happening at my studio and I am here to fill you in on recent changes and exciting news!
For the past three years I have been sub-leasing my space under two other incredible photographers. This has meant that any styling, decor (unless I brought it in for the day) and all other changes have been in their hands as the owners. I was so grateful they invited me to join them at the studio space, especially as a newer photographer. I am still very grateful to this very day!
As I've grown in my professional career, I have struggled with my vision for my photography business. What is right for me? How can I stay inspired as an artist? I considered staying at my current location and we all discussed if I could become a partner and share some of the studio vision. Unfortunately, it was decided that I would remain a sub-lease. This led me to think about how much I actually use the studio. What do I really use it for? What is my overhead? What about styled sessions with hair and makeup? Could my business thrive and grow without this space? Would I have more personal and family time without the overhead weighing on me? These questions weighed heavy on my heart. I prayed and thought a lot about it. My passion is outdoor photography, without a question. I also love boudoir, newborn & maternity very much. So I found an incredible solution and decided to embark on a new adventure!
Today I am excited to announce that I have two great guys painting away at an incredible 4-5 bedroom place that is getting ready to also launch on Airbnb! This will allow plenty of room for my hair and makeup artists. Beautiful wood floors and different set ups will provide two very different feels for sessions from now on. One being my usual crisp whites with a vintage feel and white iron bed. A beautiful white wrought iron antique screen and some lovely decor I found at Annie's Shoppe (which is incredible btw if you haven't been). And of course lots of fluffy white rugs and blankets still etc. The other room hosts a dark gray bed with studs and a darker edgy feel to it along with dark accents being brought in.
Everything else will remain the same with the exception of I will be from now on meeting brides and my styled shoots downtown here in Grants Pass at some incredible delicious local coffee shops like Rogue Roasters! Yum!
Stay tuned for some peeks from upcoming sessions this next week to follow. And thank you all for your incredible support the last 5 years~
