Wood Wedding at Grizzly Peak Winery

This couple was so kind and amazing! I first met them when they ventured out from chilly Minnesota for a little adventure in the Redwood Forest and engagement session in December. Although Oregon and northern California can be risky that time of year, we were gifted with gorgeous sun filtering through the canopy and warmth!

In June I was so blessed to witness them say I Do at Grizzly Peak Winery in Ashland, Oregon. Usually the first weekend in June we have record breaking high temperatures, however, on this day we had stormy skies and rain in the forecast. The venue was beautiful and had an indoor space that was just right for such a day. There was also just enough breaks in the clouds to allow portraits outdoors and guests to stroll around a bit. The whole day made me smile. I hope it will make you smile as well~

Outdoor Rafting Themed Wedding on The Rogue River

This fun and gorgeous wedding took place in April on a Thursday at the brides fathers home on the Rogue River here in Grants Pass, Oregon. For those of you familiar with Oregon you know an April wedding can be a bit of a rain risk. I bit my nails for months ahead of it but when the week came it was one of the warmest most beautiful weeks I can remember in an April.

TJ and Emily were surrounded by some of the most wonderful family and friends on this special day. They were up early the next to raft downriver with their friends for several days to celebrate. I could not think of anything more fun or adventurous!

Special thanks goes to many wonderful people who came together on this day and here are just a few~

Loving these shots from the best day ever 💜

Oregon Winter Princess Child Photography Grants Pass

"Though she be but little, she is fierce."

~William Shakespeare A Midsummer Night's Dream

My little Chloe... What happiness you bring. These big blue eyes have kept me inspired all along my journey in photography. Your personality always brings a smile to those around you. And your stubborn tiny chin that sets just so when you want your way.

This session was done in about a ten minute window during an unusually cold frosty morning here in Grants Pass, Oregon. Underneath the beautiful fur cloak is an incredible gown by Dollcake Couture. This session for her six year birthday I split into Part I and Part II (indoor and outdoor) to showcase both. I searched high and low for a special carousel horse for these to keep a whimsical feel (thank you Anna Minter).

Barefoot Bride Redwood Forest Wedding

There is just something so magical about the Redwood Forest. I feel its pull always. It speaks to me in whispers of centuries past. Within it time always seems to slow and stand still and I just breathe it all in.

This wedding there was so unique, beautiful, natural and earthy. I loved how intimate it was with close family and friends surrounding the bride and groom in an intimate grove of Redwood trees. Surrounded by sunshine, ferns and beautiful fallen logs full of mossy growth they said I do.

Brides beautiful hair and makeup was by the talented Shawnie Curtis Makeup Artist out of Medford, Oregon. Florals were by my one of my favorites Penny and Lulu Studio Florist and the venue for the reception The Applegate Lodge.

Oregon Beach Destination Wedding

This incredible beach wedding was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined~

As most of us Oregonians know, days like this do not happen at the Oregon Coast all the time. It can be unpredictable and the rain can blow in at any moment. This evening was gorgeous! The house that hosted everyone was large and inviting with paths leading down to the beach to the ceremony site. The sun shone through at just the right moment and burnt off the fog, rolling it into the distance. Two beautiful people united on this day with their two beautiful children and family and friends on the beachfront. I was so blessed to have been able to travel to, witness and photograph it.

I loved the details of this wedding. There were dainty beach jewel sandals handmade by one of the bridesmaids for all the bridesmaids and flower girl, the brides daughter. The bride's barefoot sandals were by Sandals Amour. The flower girl dress was from Kutie Tuties. Handsome tuxedos for the groom, groomsmen and his son. Groom's tux by Yves Allure Men. Cake by Sugar Rush who always makes incredible confections. And last but not least were stunning florals by Cathy's Floral Creations.

Oregon Spring Fever Floral Crown Inspiration

Have you ever woke up into the sun and fields of green grass after months of dull winter days?

That was the simple inspiration for this shoot.

I love styling simple last minute shoots like this. I in fact will, at times, just see something inspiring happening and run with it wildly. It seems often to be when I am at my most creative. A quick walk through of a store found this incredible gown on a discount rack. A brief trip through the floral department at the local grocery located some delicate flowers.

I then picked up beautiful Val who agreed to humor my last minute dash for the sunset and we drove through the hillsides to this incredible spot shared with me by a good photographer friend after first ending up in the middle of nowhere. Upon arrival the flower crown was a quick 5 minute wrap and we began to shoot.

This shoot was special to me in that it was my first time using a unique lens. After this session I in fact purchased it and added it to my army. It creates a bit of interesting depth and distortion I have seen very rarely. I LOVE IT!

Southern Oregon VW Bus Styled Shoot on The Rogue River

This shoot was mainly done to showcase working with me during a styled session and some of what it entails.

This session was so much fun. I had the inspiration to do something with a VW Bus and launched a search of Southern Oregon for JUST the right one. Shout out to Mr. Lance Armstrong for bringing down one of his amazing collection in yellow! Shoot day was typical Oregon and we had a bit of moody weather and rain mixed in as we reached the edges of the mighty Rogue River. This does not however stop shoots from happening here in the Pacific Northwest! My beautiful model was Tessa a senior I had worked with previously from North Valley High School here in Grants Pass who the camera just loved. And who brought just the right amount of boho hippie vibe. I shot it hybrid both film and digital.

Redwood Forest Tween Dollcake Couture Photography

There is just something so magical about the Redwood Forest. I feel its pull always. It speaks to me in whispers of centuries past. Within it time always seems to slow and stand still and I just breathe it in.

This session was focused on a unique age bracket. I feel often this age is not documented as often in my photography and that is tweens. On this adventure session I was so excited to pair up and collaborate with another local photographer Amanda Fithian Photography. We ran a local Southern Oregon model search for three girls and selected Maggie, Tyra and Fiona. Each one brought their own unique personality and extended their own "look" to the session. One brunette, one redhead, and one blonde.

We selected incredible gowns from Australia by Dollcake Oh So Girly and had them shipped in. These were joined by some incredible Grants Pass and Medford area vendors to create this elegance in the middle of Mother Nature's greatest canopy ~ The Redwoods. Thank you to Rosewood Vintage Rentals for incredible furniture pieces to help achieve our vision. To Beyond The Garden Gate and Clara for delicate floral forest crowns. To Beauty by Jen for gorgeous hair and just a touch of makeup. To American Vintage for incredible candle holders and vintage makeup items. To Shop River Rock for the glowing candles that lit our way in the dark dark rainly day woods that dripped just right. To Silk and Willow for some lovely ribbon details.

Here is our elegant girls in the Redwoods:

Tessa Senior

This beautiful girl from North Valley High School here in Southern Oregon was just so sweet! I loved that her sister booked it for her and travelled up from California to spend the shoot with her making it a special time for them both. Tessa had model looks and some incredible locks of blonde hair as well as eyebrows to die for. I cannot wait to work with her again!

Styled by Whitney Tuttle of Peerless Beauty Lounge ~ Here is a peek at our studio and outdoor location shoot here in Grants Pass at a couple of my very favorite private properties I offer for use. (Thanks to some SUPER awesome property owners out my way!)

Couture Youth Oregon Snow Photography

"I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young. They're still princesses."

~A Little Princess

The quote above is from one of my favorite stories of all time. I received the book when I was young and it has always been one of my most treasured along with The Secret Garden. This week waking up to an icy world seemed like the perfect time to venture out into a magic morning to capture a Southern Oregon covered in a soft glowing blanket. I brought along my little neighbor and friend Emma to model a dress I had shipped in from Australia by Dollcake Vintage for her. Emma has always reminded me of just what a fairy princess would look like if I were to ever meet one in real life.

Vintage Oregon Snow Photography & Portrait Session

"The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up in another quite different. And if this is not enchantment, then where is it to be found?" ~JB Priestley

Snow in some places is a seasonal event but here in Southern Oregon it is a rare and magic gift to us all. I remember praying for it as a child. To wake up to that white glow and quiet. To know that the day to follow the world was going to be pure and fresh and serene. I love the Pacific Northwest and how it encompasses such a variety of seasons and colors.

Beautiful Darian went out with me this morning to embrace the day as it unfolded. Some clothes from my props closet with a bright pop of red, a gorgeous ring and a vintage camera added finishing touches to the magic.

Matthews Wedding Grants Pass Oregon

This beautiful wedding took place on a rainy day the last part of November. A ceremony at Calvary Lutheran with dim lights, candles and piano set the mood. The bride Jessica was absolutely stunning in a lace gown...with pockets! Her husband was equally handsome in a dashing suit. The reception to follow was equally amazing with twinkle lights brightening the dark and incredible food by one of my favorite local restaurants The Vine.

Ashland Oregon Mountaintop Couples Engagement Style Session

There is nothing better than love on the top of the world between two people. This incredible couples session took place to celebrate a one year anniversary and the evening was pure Oregon magic...

Our adventure took us through incredible old growth forest. We climbed to the tops of mountains with 360 degree views overlooking the Rogue Valley in one direction and all the way to Mt Shasta and California in the other. There were rainbows in the skies and flowers in the fields. The Siskiyou Mountains gifted us so many special moments that evening and love was in the air.
