Redwood Forest Tween Dollcake Couture Photography

There is just something so magical about the Redwood Forest. I feel its pull always. It speaks to me in whispers of centuries past. Within it time always seems to slow and stand still and I just breathe it in.

This session was focused on a unique age bracket. I feel often this age is not documented as often in my photography and that is tweens. On this adventure session I was so excited to pair up and collaborate with another local photographer Amanda Fithian Photography. We ran a local Southern Oregon model search for three girls and selected Maggie, Tyra and Fiona. Each one brought their own unique personality and extended their own "look" to the session. One brunette, one redhead, and one blonde.

We selected incredible gowns from Australia by Dollcake Oh So Girly and had them shipped in. These were joined by some incredible Grants Pass and Medford area vendors to create this elegance in the middle of Mother Nature's greatest canopy ~ The Redwoods. Thank you to Rosewood Vintage Rentals for incredible furniture pieces to help achieve our vision. To Beyond The Garden Gate and Clara for delicate floral forest crowns. To Beauty by Jen for gorgeous hair and just a touch of makeup. To American Vintage for incredible candle holders and vintage makeup items. To Shop River Rock for the glowing candles that lit our way in the dark dark rainly day woods that dripped just right. To Silk and Willow for some lovely ribbon details.

Here is our elegant girls in the Redwoods:

Petite Masquerade Bridal Session

Masquerade balls were a feature of the 15th century and spread through most of Europe by the 17th and 18th centuries. Balls, gardens, plays, operas with an air of secrecy, were considered a little bit if not a lot quite scandalous. Lending an air of mystery in much different times, they still to this day evoke a feeling of clandestine love and emotions.

This styled session at Sweet Cheeks Vineyard nestled in the hills surrounding Eugene, Oregon was just the magical place for a bit of masquerade. Our model Heidi Marie Carpenter evoked just the right amount of mystery in her eyes. The purple and gold accented meringues were absolutely delicious. The handmade ring was to die for. The bouquet brought the smell of fresh herbs mingling with the passing rain storm that day. The props were bold and colorful. The gown had a frothy cascading train.  Everything was perfection.

Special thank you to my two beautiful partners and our incredible collaborators:
