Outdoor Rafting Themed Wedding on The Rogue River

This fun and gorgeous wedding took place in April on a Thursday at the brides fathers home on the Rogue River here in Grants Pass, Oregon. For those of you familiar with Oregon you know an April wedding can be a bit of a rain risk. I bit my nails for months ahead of it but when the week came it was one of the warmest most beautiful weeks I can remember in an April.

TJ and Emily were surrounded by some of the most wonderful family and friends on this special day. They were up early the next to raft downriver with their friends for several days to celebrate. I could not think of anything more fun or adventurous!

Special thanks goes to many wonderful people who came together on this day and here are just a few~

Loving these shots from the best day ever 💜

Oregon Beach Destination Wedding

This incredible beach wedding was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined~

As most of us Oregonians know, days like this do not happen at the Oregon Coast all the time. It can be unpredictable and the rain can blow in at any moment. This evening was gorgeous! The house that hosted everyone was large and inviting with paths leading down to the beach to the ceremony site. The sun shone through at just the right moment and burnt off the fog, rolling it into the distance. Two beautiful people united on this day with their two beautiful children and family and friends on the beachfront. I was so blessed to have been able to travel to, witness and photograph it.

I loved the details of this wedding. There were dainty beach jewel sandals handmade by one of the bridesmaids for all the bridesmaids and flower girl, the brides daughter. The bride's barefoot sandals were by Sandals Amour. The flower girl dress was from Kutie Tuties. Handsome tuxedos for the groom, groomsmen and his son. Groom's tux by Yves Allure Men. Cake by Sugar Rush who always makes incredible confections. And last but not least were stunning florals by Cathy's Floral Creations.

Petite Masquerade Bridal Session

Masquerade balls were a feature of the 15th century and spread through most of Europe by the 17th and 18th centuries. Balls, gardens, plays, operas with an air of secrecy, were considered a little bit if not a lot quite scandalous. Lending an air of mystery in much different times, they still to this day evoke a feeling of clandestine love and emotions.

This styled session at Sweet Cheeks Vineyard nestled in the hills surrounding Eugene, Oregon was just the magical place for a bit of masquerade. Our model Heidi Marie Carpenter evoked just the right amount of mystery in her eyes. The purple and gold accented meringues were absolutely delicious. The handmade ring was to die for. The bouquet brought the smell of fresh herbs mingling with the passing rain storm that day. The props were bold and colorful. The gown had a frothy cascading train.  Everything was perfection.

Special thank you to my two beautiful partners and our incredible collaborators:

Oregon Bridal Inspiration: Painted Hills Fine Art Film

This styled session in the Painted Hills of Oregon was just the most incredible adventure. This particular set I shot at last light with Portra 400 film. We travelled up through Eugene, Oregon to pick up our gorgeous model Abby VanSteenberghe then on into Salem, Oregon to pick up some incredible florals from Ponderosa and Thyme before our journey to the desert. Lovely vintage rental items were from Rosewood Event Rentals in Medford, Oregon, the glorious ring from one of my favorite jewelers in our state By Angeline. Beautiful flowing skirts by Space 46. Calligraphy by Kelsey Malie Calligraphy and ribbons by Silk and WillowThis whole vision was styled and brought together by Lahna Marie Photography and these incredible vendors. I was so blessed to be able to do some film work and assist on this dream shoot of hers. She has been an incredible mentor and inspiration to me over the past two years and I simply cannot repay what she has gifted me. Here is a look at the Oregon Painted Hills in color following up my black and white Delta 3200 film post from earlier...
