Wood Wedding at Grizzly Peak Winery

This couple was so kind and amazing! I first met them when they ventured out from chilly Minnesota for a little adventure in the Redwood Forest and engagement session in December. Although Oregon and northern California can be risky that time of year, we were gifted with gorgeous sun filtering through the canopy and warmth!

In June I was so blessed to witness them say I Do at Grizzly Peak Winery in Ashland, Oregon. Usually the first weekend in June we have record breaking high temperatures, however, on this day we had stormy skies and rain in the forecast. The venue was beautiful and had an indoor space that was just right for such a day. There was also just enough breaks in the clouds to allow portraits outdoors and guests to stroll around a bit. The whole day made me smile. I hope it will make you smile as well~

Lucas Lodge Lower Rogue River Wedding

Fishing and river guide weddings here in Oregon are now my very favorite. This one did not disappoint especially with such a unique and special couple. Artists and river guides with a tiny baby in tow they were an absolute pleasure to work with...

This wedding was absolutely perfection! We travelled to meet his couple and their friends who had rafted into Lucas Lodge on the lower Rogue River for a beautiful elopement style wedding. After a journey up the Oregon Coast to Gold Beach, Oregon...due to Bear Camp Road being closed during Spring, it was as always a refreshing experience to land at Lucas for this destination Oregon wedding.

Oregon Bohemian Wedding

This wedding was absolutely one of the most charming wedding days of my Summer. Joe and Karli with the name of The Lewis and Clark Wedding came into my life full of smiles and joy and unique genuine personalities that immediately captured my heart. Scroll to the end to read Joe and Karli's story and the details of their special day~

So many creative details throughout it all and they can be seen as well here published on an international bohemian wedding blog called Boho Weddings!

Our Story

Joe and I met while attending college at Western Oregon University. It was a time in which neither of us was interested in a relationship but after a week of trekking around Moab with the Natural Science club (of which Joe was the president hehe). We found the chemistry and compatibility too strong to ignore. Our partnership grew over countless bow hunting and backpacking trips where we pushed ourselves to new limits spending weeks in our beloved Eagle cap wilderness, harvesting mushrooms, deer, elk, berries, and exploring new basins and sacred spots known only to us.

One day in 2014 after a long and monotonous work week I came home and announced that I had planned to hike the 2,660 mile Pacific Crest trail, reaching from the Mexico to Canada border. Without a bat of the eye or any element of surprise Joe replied “lets do it!” Together and now equipped with a new set of adventure dreadlocks and our one man tent we made the entire length of the trip in 4.5 months. If there were ever a better test to see if you are compatible with someone; 25 miles a day and only one shower a week will do it.

Fast forward 3 years after a rainy hunting trip Joe popped the question at a hotsprings in La Grande Oregon. I was stunned as he pulled the most beautiful and unique locally made (and from my hometown to boot!) ring that encompassed all the most important elements to us. A citrine sun signifying Fire, engraved waves for the water, a mountain for the earth aspect, and finally air, portrayed by the blowing wind.

Our adventures as husband and wife continue as we just recently moved into a RV full time in order to travel for Joe’s work. We split our year between the Northern Oregon Coast and the beautiful mountains and blue sky of Eastern Oregon running, hiking, foraging and playing with our pup Indi.

Dancer Forest Oregon Wedding

This wedding was so beautiful. Taking place in a Southern Oregon wooded glen on the bride's parents property it was just filled with joy and personal touches.

If you love Oregon like me, lots of hydrangeas, a bit of sun and magic glow, tall trees, summer flowers and beautiful people then you will love this peek~

Wisteria Gardens Oregon Wedding

This beautiful wedding took place on possibly the hottest day in Oregon for the summer of 2017. Wisteria Garden is a magic place full of lush cool green botanicals that kept us all shaded and cool. The getting ready areas were breezy and air conditioned, the fans misted everyone throughout the ceremony. I couldn't think of anywhere I'd have rather us all been on such a day.

Here is a peek at Mr and Mrs Wilson and their two adorable littles. So much love was felt throughout this day. Love and joy. Surrounded by their family and friends you could feel it radiating in the air.

Thank you for being so very kind and allowing me to be a part of your very special day.

Dorris Ranch Fall Wedding

This incredible wedding and blending of families happened at Dorris Ranch in Oregon. There were touching moments of personal intimate vows between bride and groom exchanged in hazelnut orchards. The groom speaking from his heart to his new daughter. There were moments of happy tears thankfully covered by tiny persons handing out tissues down the isle. There was rain and real rainbows that only Oregon can deliver within the hour.

I could go on forever but you are here to see it all for yourself!  So here it all is for you to see. A very special thank you to my talented friend Photography by Lynn Marie out of Eugene for letting me second shoot these moments for you and hosting me for an incredibly fun evening.

Barefoot Bride Redwood Forest Wedding

There is just something so magical about the Redwood Forest. I feel its pull always. It speaks to me in whispers of centuries past. Within it time always seems to slow and stand still and I just breathe it all in.

This wedding there was so unique, beautiful, natural and earthy. I loved how intimate it was with close family and friends surrounding the bride and groom in an intimate grove of Redwood trees. Surrounded by sunshine, ferns and beautiful fallen logs full of mossy growth they said I do.

Brides beautiful hair and makeup was by the talented Shawnie Curtis Makeup Artist out of Medford, Oregon. Florals were by my one of my favorites Penny and Lulu Studio Florist and the venue for the reception The Applegate Lodge.

Oregon Beach Destination Wedding

This incredible beach wedding was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined~

As most of us Oregonians know, days like this do not happen at the Oregon Coast all the time. It can be unpredictable and the rain can blow in at any moment. This evening was gorgeous! The house that hosted everyone was large and inviting with paths leading down to the beach to the ceremony site. The sun shone through at just the right moment and burnt off the fog, rolling it into the distance. Two beautiful people united on this day with their two beautiful children and family and friends on the beachfront. I was so blessed to have been able to travel to, witness and photograph it.

I loved the details of this wedding. There were dainty beach jewel sandals handmade by one of the bridesmaids for all the bridesmaids and flower girl, the brides daughter. The bride's barefoot sandals were by Sandals Amour. The flower girl dress was from Kutie Tuties. Handsome tuxedos for the groom, groomsmen and his son. Groom's tux by Yves Allure Men. Cake by Sugar Rush who always makes incredible confections. And last but not least were stunning florals by Cathy's Floral Creations.

Oregon Spring Fever Floral Crown Inspiration

Have you ever woke up into the sun and fields of green grass after months of dull winter days?

That was the simple inspiration for this shoot.

I love styling simple last minute shoots like this. I in fact will, at times, just see something inspiring happening and run with it wildly. It seems often to be when I am at my most creative. A quick walk through of a store found this incredible gown on a discount rack. A brief trip through the floral department at the local grocery located some delicate flowers.

I then picked up beautiful Val who agreed to humor my last minute dash for the sunset and we drove through the hillsides to this incredible spot shared with me by a good photographer friend after first ending up in the middle of nowhere. Upon arrival the flower crown was a quick 5 minute wrap and we began to shoot.

This shoot was special to me in that it was my first time using a unique lens. After this session I in fact purchased it and added it to my army. It creates a bit of interesting depth and distortion I have seen very rarely. I LOVE IT!

Bigelow Wedding Columbia Falls Montana

Montana has my heart...

This Fall I flew back to shoot this incredible wedding in Columbia Falls with my good friend and photographer Jaci Brillon. Not only were the mountains in this region of our country breathtaking, so was this bride. Her horse, her beautiful mountaintop home and property on which she had her wedding and children.

Here is a peek at Mr and Mrs Bigelow~

I am so blessed to have been able to capture and witness this while on my visit to the Flathead area of Montana.
